Get Piste! - The Rebirth
Get Piste! was the game which, slowly but surely, transformed itself into
Ducks. It had gorgeous
16-colour graphics (yes, that
was 16-colour), received a few favourable reviews
and was even included in PC Magazine's list of "the (100) most popular free games in the Software
Library". It's true! Look for yourself, it's
all there in electronic black and white. That's if the link still
works, which it may not any more.
Sounds Lovely... Where Do I Sign?
The 10 level version (free) still exists. You can
download it from
here if you like. Go ahead.
It does keep talking about a full 50
level version though, and that version of the game's no longer with
us. It got eaten by a mad Escom PC literally months later.
The game also keeps talking about a Get Piste! web page and
an address to send postcards to. This has all changed. Pay no
attention to any of it. Sadly I've lost everything which I used to get
the information into the game, so I can't change it. Besides, there
are so many of 'em around the planet by now that if I were to
change the file that I'm giving away here, 99.9% of the copies
of the demo kicking about the internet would still be wrong.
So I can't be bothered.
