| IrfanView - very useful if you use PaintShopPro's Animation Shop. added Aug 21 2003 by tolworthy, modified Aug 21 2003 | |
| Create an animated GIF in Animation Shop (when saving, use 'advanced' options to save FULL frames!), then use IrfanView to extract as BMPs, then IrfanView Batch mode to change to TGAs. Sounds fiddly, but saves a lot of time if you do a lot of animating. (Warning: watch out if saving as a GIF changes the pure pink background color ) | |
| Crimson Editor added Jul 28 2003 by tolworthy | |
| Like EditPlus except it's free. It needs three syntax files, which isn't as scary as it sounds. Just adapt existing files, and copy and paste from the EditPlus syntax file. | |

| UltraEdit syntax highlighting for SLUDGE added Mar 2 2003 by ulmo | |
| this is the text to add to your UltraEdit texteditor for support of SLUDGE syntax highlighting. add it to the end of your wordlist.txt file in your ultra edit directory. you might have to adjust the very first number (for example "L8") according to the number of languages specified in this file. and be careful not to add any unneccessary whitespace in that file! | |
| ConTEXT highlighter for Sludge 1.3 added Nov 3 2002 by Stacy | |

| DownRate added Mar 8 2002 by Stacy, modified Nov 3 2002 | |
| This is an old program I've been using to batch downrate mp3s. SLUDGE doesn't like very high quality mp3s I think, and that can be bad if you have a bunch of them. I didn't write this program, I'm just providing it because it seems to have disapeared from the internet altogether. You need to make an mp3in and an mp3out folder, and put the stuff you want to convert in the mp3in. Then click the downrate shortcut. Marked as broken 2443 days ago. | |
| EditPlus added Oct 26 2002 by Tim the Furnish | |
| Fantastic little text editor - and you can even get it to do proper SLUDGE syntax highlighting (with a little help from a file on the downloads page). Break free from those restrictive notepad-shaped shackles! Requires registration, fully functional with a pop-up window when you start if unregistered. | |
| Sado Alanet's Art Tool added Feb 5 2002 by Tim the Furnish | |
| Batch processes sprites. Automatically fills in transparent areas (including, with a little help, holes) and optionally mirrors them. Certainly beats doing it all manually. It was written by Sado in VB6 and comes as-is... as the page says, "Hope you're comfortable using notepad, fiddling about with folders, etc." | |

Try the windows version of the Gimp. Dogwaffle, and Pixia for starters. They save TGA (I think?) and should be almost as good as programs you'd pay for. | |
